I don't know where you live or what the food costs are there, but my
DH and I are on a strict budget too - he does the shopping and I know
he looks for sales all the time, specials on both meats and
vegetables, which is pretty much all we eat. I don't know the exact
figures of our costs - and it's probably different in your state -
but I know it's possible. The other thing is if things are on sale,
buy two if you can.
