Does anyone know of any long term ketosis studies? I
think it would be hard to find since it is believed
that this would lead to brain death and therefore it
would be unethical to have people do it. Our science
says the brain needs a minimun amount of glucose. But
after long periods of ketosis the brain can actually
use about 75%of its energy from ketones. If there
were studies that looked at this, is it possible that
ketosis and ammonia could be responsible for brain
growth through evolution and natural selection. Those
best suited to survive in extreme ketosis would
reproduce. This is a wild idea, but so is Paleo to
the rest of the world right now.
