Jere, my Tropicana OJ box lists in one set of parentheses "(Calcium
hydroxide, malic acid, citric acid)."
Calcium citrate/malate combines calcium with citric acid and malic acids.
Many researchers believe that calcium citrate/malate is the most
bioavailable form of calcium. So what you see listed is actually calcium
citrate, which may be the most easily assimilated form of calcium. -vance
BTW, perhaps I didn't make it clear in my first post to the list that
getting enough calcium is more important to most people than getting too
much. I only sent that warning because I didn't know before that too much
calcium also presented its own problems. The only way you can get too much
is to eat a lot of artificially fortified foods on purpose like the Venus
di Milo did. First make certain you have enough. Osteoporosis is no joke. -vance
