Check for the drivers that would have come with your motherboard. Normally
there is a cd with ide, sound(if onboard), etc. drivers. Try installing
these and rebooting.

Hi,

Just finished building a computer and now, when I boot it, Win98 detects a
new device. But the only "new" device in the computer is my video card and
a modem. Both device's drivers were succesfully installed but I still get
the same message. Where can this come from?

Here is my setup:
Win98 SE
ASUS motherboard P3C-2000 ( with latest bios. rev. 1011.a )
ASUS video card V3800 Pro
P3 533Mhz
WD 13Gb
Diamond 56k modem
