In my colleague's office at work we have a HP Laserjet 4050n printer recently installed as a local printer on a Compaq Presario machine. When we work in Windows(95) the printer works perfecrly but as soon as we switch to DOS (frequently!) the printer freezes up and we need to reboot to bring it back to life.

HP tell me that it will run in DOS but I need a PCR code - whatever that is!. They have given me a web address from which to download these codes but it will not respond - http:\\www.hp.com\cposupport\printer\support_doc\bpl02705.html\

Does anyone know whether this printer will print in DOS and, if so, what is the key. I can find no reference in the manual which might help me to resolve this problem.

All help will be gratefully received.
