Bidding war for the scaffolding from the Washington Monument. Target
Stores, among others, is bidding--bids in excess of $1 million. They want
to give it a permanent home elsewhere--maybe Minneapolis. Tourists (and
pigeons) would flock from all over the world to see it--a sort of
Minnesotan Eiffel Tower. Or Watts Tower. 

Maybe they could erect it in a condominium--or a condomaximum.

Is this carrying preservation too far? Consider what the French mean by <<
preservatif >>.
