  It depends on your priorities.  Each has its own advantages, and
there are no motherboards which support both.

  I haven't tested them against each other.  The K6-2 introduced some
new instructions -- similar in concept to MMX, but supporting
additional data types -- and software that can take advantage of
those operations would likely get a boost.  Also, the L2 cache on a
PII runs at half the speed of the CPU, and its larger size may not be
enough to make up for that.
