All this talk about testing has me thinking about another issue:

How many of you regularly do food challenge tests?

Our not-so-cooperative allergist won't do one until age 8 or above, he
says. We have a confirmed allergy with other testing. Now that my
daughter has turned 8, I'm wondering if I should have a food challenge
done for milk. She has not reacted in awhile but we are very careful.
I suspect she might be changing, but she does quite fine with her
current diet. Why subject her to the experience if it isn't necessary??

Not sure I trust this allergist to do the testing as a result of his
unsupportive behavior. Others we know locally have gone to St. Louis
Children's or Little Rock Children's for challenges. I'm pretty sure my
insurance won't cover that and it takes a few months to get an
appointment. Wondering what you all experienced parents think,
especially Mark since your child is older.
