I checked in Holland & Barrett today as I hadn't seen Lactaid there
recently and they don't appear to stock it any more. (But see Alan's
post for how to find it in the UK.)

I'm a bit sceptical about the advice I got in H&B today: I asked if they
stocked Lactaid and the assistant authoritatively said "no" but then
went on to suggest I tried the body building shop down the road. I spent
all day thinking about that one, and I think that she thinks that
Lactaid is one of the "Mega Mass" products that body builders use. You'd
think staff in healthfood shops would be better informed.
