Jody's first message was very clear, and many people will say they are sorry
once they're caught with their hand in the cookie jar.  Sometimes they are
just sorry they were caught.  There are consequences to one's actions,
apologies notwithstanding.  Jody has earned attention from the disability
community, and now he/she is whining like an undisciplined child because
he/she got it.  That apology would not have been forthcoming if nothing had
been said.  The disability community is just doing a little parenting that
Jody's own parents apparently neglected.  This person has to learn the
meaning of the word accountability, and the larger, nondisabled audience must
know that we will vehemently address hostility and threats.  Disabled people
are, and have always been, targets for abuse and violence, and that cannot be
tolerated.  If we do tolerate it, we will be accepting this garbage for the
next generation.  We are responsible to make this stop.
