This is to let you all know that effective Tuesday, April 11, 2001, I am no
longer associated with the Preservation Sourcebook. This will not surprise
some of you with whom I have previously shared my thoughts. The market will
only buy so many lacunae no matter how much you plug. Questions and
comments regarding PSB may be addressed to me backchannel, or if
appropriate for open discussion, by way of BP.
However, I will continue to be an active participant in BP, PTN and IPTW
(no carload of books to bring = Great Pumpkin can attend IPTW 2001!), as
well as interested in any opportunities to make good use of my knowledge,
experience, contacts and smooth line of chat. For the time being, I am
pursuing full-time real estate (historic whenever possible), in which I
have so far this year sold 3 houses and made about 4x what I would at the
PSB in the same time span.
Any loss of authenticity resulting from this transition is more than offset
by the huge increase in integrity. My originality, of course, remains
unimpaired.
