Thanks to those who have gotten back with me on
the subject of myopia.I had written directly to
Ray some weeks ago, hoping for some pointers to
research on the subject(since he himself defines
myopia as an auto-immune disease and therefore
presumably amenable to diet). However,I have yet to
receive a response from him.
On the subject of Ray,I was appalled to read the
ridiculous statements with regard to the modern
production of meat for the consumption of the
masses. Both Lois and jean-claude have already
responded to this post -and may I say ,in a far
more balanced and informed manner.Choosing to eat
paleo style is not I think incompatible with a
desire to see a far more humane approach to the
keeping of animals for food production.A hunter
gatherer culture ,I feel fairly comfortable in
saying, would not have subjected its prey to
sustained torture as happens in today's world.I
think that respect for other creatures is
precisely what fuels the vegetarian movement and I
certainly would respect any person's committment
to that ethic. Most of us will not be out hunting
our own game but buying our food from the
supermarket and I for one would rather give my
business to those who show some decency in their
operations. Here in Australia we can certainly get
free-range eggs for example-which I prefer to buy
rather than battery-laid eggs.
