I am needing to find a CD ripper which people find to be blind
accessible which works on Windows 10 or Windows 11. I don't know if all
rippers query on-line databases for song title and artist but that is a
necessity.

I used to use Expedia to book flights with no problem. For some time
though, it just doesn't work. I can select the to &from destinations but I
just can't select the dates . It would be nice to be able to type in a date
but hitting enter on the date field just brings up the calendar. So I hit
enter on the departure date I want & Expedia fills in the return date, a
date I do not want. So I enter the return date & Expedia has changed the
departure date. Has anyone else had this problem?

Okay, I’m going to vent a little while trying to ask what can be done, if anything…

I’ve used JFW since the beginning of ’94 or thereabouts. I worked for Henter-Joyce back in the 90’s. And for years I’ve trained others on the use of computers & the Internet with JAWS. But I had some sort of stroke or something a few years ago, and seem to have lost a ton of what I know I knew about AT. I have finally got rid of the tape recorder, after what happened to my
recording tonight, and am going to buy a digital voice recorder.
It needs to have speech, because I might not be able to remember things
with just beeps.
So, if anyone has experience and can tell me what kind of digital recorder

Hello list: Can anyone tell me how I go about renaming a folder in Outlook
(it's an email folder) I have something spelled wrong, causing Jaws to not
say it properly (I know what the folder should say) so that's not a real big
deal; I still would like to know if I can rename it, so it Jaws Pronounces

Hi guys, is anyone having trouble with accessing older files that you have
saved to OneDrive? I have had this problem with what I thought were mainly
word and excel files, but it appears to be any older files that I haven't
accessed in awhile. Is there any way of recovering anything? I've saved
other files on thumb drives and things like that over the years but have
never run across this kind of an issue. Is OneDrive doing something to older
files? I think that the decision as to whether or not I should delete them
should be up

friend and Jaws announces red flag when I arrow to it. I know this person
well & didn't see anything in the email that seemed ominous. What causes
Outlook to mark an email red flag?

Hi, everyone. I should have taken care of this years ago, but, when I
couldn't figure it out, I just gave up. So I've decided to do the smart
thing and ask for assistance.

Many years ago I subscribed for a Skype account that costs $10 every couple
of months. I haven't used Skype now in two or three years, but they still
deduct $10 every couple of months from my PayPal account. I have looked at
their website and cannot, for the life of me, find a way to cancel this

Hello list: I have a problem that needs attention as

Hi: Wondering what, if any, comments listers might have about using Gmail
after the change to standard view. I've encountered a couple of glitches;
maybe at least one of them is due to ignorance but another, a seeming
period of blank screen is puzzling. When navigating quickly toward the top
of the window, all of a sudden my screen reader says nothing and there's no
response from my computer. I must wait about 20 seconds before the machine
seems to recover. It acts exactly as if the machine, in combination with

Whenever my computer updates, or, when it shuts down or restarts, my desktop shortcut keys no longer work. They are still in the properties of the desktop links and programs, but, I have to manually reset them; in order for them to work. There are some list owners/moderators who themselves aren't sure of those
emails as being legitimate either.
So, who knows; It has been suggested that active list participants are
less likely to have received those notices than those that just subscribe
and never do anything.
If this whole thing goes awry, Groups.io will suffer a major PR blunder.
Hopefully, it works for them in cleaning up the membership.

I've never had to do this before, but this is a chart for coax cable, that

I am running a Windows 11 computer with the latest updates installed, along
with the latest update of JAWS 2024. For a couple of years, I have run only
Windows Defender for protection.

However, I see some people are using Malware Bytes. Is it a good thing to

Hello: I've discovered something happening with Zoom that to me is rather
distracting: sometimes (not all the time) I'll be in a Zoom meeting, when
I'll hear Jaws say, "Thumbnail checked".it just will repeat this every few
seconds! I find this distracting if.let's say I'm hosting a meeting and I
keep hearing this "thumbnails checked"; have come up with a theory: if
someone comes into the meeting with their video turned on, this is when this
happens; I also can see some things that appear on the right side of my

Hi guys, and happy new year 2024! I was wondering what people like on here as far as smartphones are concerned? Is it Android or IOS. I myself have been an IOS user since 2011. I am running Outlook 365 on a Windows 11 machine with the latest version of
JAWS, though this issue has existed since I began running it last April.
When I am checking my Outlllk.com email inbox, some messages show up, but
not all. When I press Tab, I see a Focused button, which is selected. If I
Tab again, I reach a button that says Other. When I press Enter on this, it
is checked and I see the remainder of my messages.

Is anyone on this list an experienced app developer for iOS? Looking for
developers who are very familiar with Voiceover. I do some consulting for a
company that makes data management software, and we're having a pesky
Voiceover issue with the latest version of the software. Works fine on PC

Is there any place I can get an r-formatted user guide for the iphone? I
need to keep from my sighted wife from turning voice over on and off all the
time to do something on my phone. She used to do it that way, but now has to

I just upgraded Fusion to the current 2024 version. Yet when I rebooted,
the previous version was the one that loaded, prompting me to update. I
closed that one & opened 2024. I went through the menus but found nothing
saying open at start up or anything like that. I did click on set as
default but clearly that didn't do it. I'm sure I'm missing something
obvious but what do I need to do to get the current version to open at start
up rather than the previous version?

Hi,
I've worked with Gmail in standard view. Are there any good tutorials
on it? I don't have it synced to Outlook or any other program and
don't want to.
Google is doing away with Gmail in HTML in January 2024.
One of my "dummies" questions is there a shortcut key to delete a
message in a conversation? Another one is how to delete an email
address in a new email I'm writing if I've made an error?

with Tapin Radio: problem is that it no longer will record! The Ramersoft
Support person says I need to put this certain file in the address bar of
explorer! So where is the explorer bar? Am hoping that (if I can find
that) and then, if I can paste this Tapin Radio thing that he says I need to

Hey everybody, I am having a severe issue with my iPhone.

I have the 14 and have updated it to the newest version, not 17. The issue I
have, and have been having for more than 6 months, and I can't get any
resolution out of Consumer Cellular, is that I lose network connectivity
about 2 or 3 times a month. Sometimes it's more than that.

Hello List: Somehow or other, in the Documents folder, what was on the
bottom is now on the top and vise versa; I want to turn it back as it was,
but can find no way to do it! So can someone tell me what the command is

Since the updated version of NVDA has come out, I've been experiencing
issues with several properties inside of my documents.namely, not talking to
me when I try to copy and paste.

Also, when I try to open a document, it usually says "Unknown" beore it
finaly opens, if at all. Sometimes I have to use the contect key and go to
"Open Up"

In the latest version of Mozilla's Thunderbird mail client software
(115.2.3) that was released and installed on September 20, the option to
sort the message list by "From" is disabled. Is this a bug or is there
some other setting that first must be changed in order to enable this

Open the folder.
to burn all the photos to cd.
control + a, to select all.

tab to organize button.
arrow right to burn button.
press space bar to activate burn.

the edit box appears, to name the file.
tab to 2 choices, select cd dvd.

I have a Logitech K780 keyboard that I would like to use with my computer.
It worked with my previous computer but have had no luck with this one. I
put the dongle into the USb drive and it makes a sound. Can't remember how

I sent two messages to different recippients which were rejected but their
service provider said the problem could be solved by forwarding the message
to the email support but they say in Outlook it should be forwarded as an
attachment but I can't find any option to forward as an attachment, so how

First, press shift plus tab.
This takes me to the Navigation Pane.
The Inbox folder is the first one at the top.
Arrow down to Junk email.
Enter on junk email.
Locate the email in question.

Arrow down to Junk.
Arrow right to never block sender.
Enter on never block sender.

Hello, all. I am using the latest update of JAWS with Windows 11 and Outlook
365. I am noticing two issues.

Emails from a couple of list I am subscribed to, including this one, are
sometimes going to my junk mail folder. The second issue is stranger.

One of my email addresses is an Outlook.com address. When I check the inbox,
it doesn't check all of the emails. By this I mean that if I press Tab,
Focused is checked. After reading through the original list of emails, I
have to press Tab twice to get to Other, and then

I noticed that I have to have all blue tooth items turned off to use the
Echo.

I have my DexCom on my phone to help monitor my blood sugar wnad it uses
blue tooth to communicate with the monitor, which doesn't talk.

I thought that the Echo used voice commands ant relegated to just blue
tooth. Is this true or not?

Does anyone out there know how to mute or temporarily turn off NVDA for a
radio interview? I can't appear unless I have it muted or turned off and it
is a very interesting interview this week.

Windows 10, NVDA, & Word 2016

This hasn't happened for a long time, but now is happening again and I need
help.as much as I can with this issue.

When I'm in a document and going through it line by line, for editing
purposes, it suddenly skips a page and goes to the next one. An example:
I'll be on page 22 and then all of sudden at the end of page 2 it flips to
page 4! What the Hell?

Hi all,

Has anyone had a good experience interacting with a computer company? I have
an HP computer running Windows 11 and it has been a complete disappointment.
Yesterday I saw a message on the desktop notifying me about the product
status. I suspected it was a link to the HP website but couldn't access it
using the keyboard. JAWS indicated that I was in applications mode when I
pressed enter on the icon. I contacted Aira and they helped me use the
website so I could find out that the warranty had expired. They helped me

Hello list: I certainly hope that someone can tell me what I need to do
here: I share dropbox folders with several people. It seems now that my
Dropbox is not syncing up, thus, if I put something in a folder that I'm
sharing with someone, the other person does not see them! I have checked on
my end and.as far as I can tell, most all of the shared folders are empty!
So this tells me that it's not due to not having enough space! So what is

Hey gang, have a couple of questions that have tasked me lately:

1. For the past several months, I've experience the computer saying
"unknown" when opening a document. It usually only happens when the document
is delayed in opened by a nanosecond. If it opens immediately, as it should

        Hi all,

using windows 10, winamp, version 5.666 and Jaws 2020.

This problem started last night.

When I click on a file to play it, winamp plays it, but it is not in the
winamp window, and when I press alt f4 to get out of it, it does not
take me back to the list of files, it takes me to the task bar.

Using windows 11, the latest version of firefox, and jaws 2020.

Here's what happens.

I don't know if I'm the only one who has this problem or not.

Last night, the keyboard was fine, no stickiness, on my keys on my
keyboard, but now, this afternoon, my keyboard is just sticky, yes, the
keys work, but its massively sticky.

It's like, when you're in the kitchen, and get out a can of food, and
the can lid is sticky, not because of food, but it's just sticky.

Hi,

I am using the current version of Firefox, Windows 10, current version of
Fusion. Firefox is extremely slow. I open a page & let it load. I use h
to jump to headings & have to wait longer than I should for each jump to
happen. I use the arrow keys & same thing, an extra long wait until Firefox
moves to the next item. I use Chrome & Edge for other things & no problems
there. I want to use Firefox for some particular web sites as I like to
download articles as text files for later reading.

F6 key, it doesn't give the option for word count, just accessability,
speeling and grammar, zomm in and out and etc.

I have Fusion at home and Fusion Professional at work. I can rarely get my
work to pay for upgrades and have ended up paying for them myself.

I'm finally thinking about getting one and wanted to know a couple of
things;

1. Obviously, you have to have an internet connection (we use satellite
at this point and have to contact them to see how to attach the modem to it.
2. Is it really secure, and can everything be blocked other than
unplugging every day?

I was perusing an Android discussion list, and someone forwarded a message
about this new screenreader. As the name suggests, it's from China. I am not
sending out a website link as I couldn't find a formal announcement from the
developer. When I did a Google search, all I could find was the user manual
and information about purchase options. I don't know where the person on the
Android list got the information. Even though it was an off-topic subject
for the Android list, it generated a large amount of e-mail. I would not use

Can anyone recommend an accessible FTP program for Windows? Now that FTP
doesn't work from within Windows anymore, I tried FileZilla but can't
access most of the screen with the keyboard. Any suggestions for an
accessible FTP program would be appreciated. I use JAWS.

    Hi all,

Fixed the Chrome problem, doing the flag method, mentioned in the
Freedom Scientific blog, and thanks for posting that blog page Mike!!!

However, another problem, shortcuts to web pages on my desktop, and
links in emails, are not opening with Chrome. I'll press enter on the
link, or on the shortcut, and it just sits there, and the web page does
not open.

        Hi all,

I called my computer guy, Rick, and he spent 3 hours with me on the
phone, and we used quick assist.

He found out what was wrong, the 22h2 version of windows messed it up,
because my Giggabit motherboard does not have a USB driver for windows 22h2.

So, he put my computer back on 21h2, and all my folders are now opening.

Hello List: This is something I've done before, but since I've not done it

Well folks, this is what I have done.

I went to task manager, and restarted explorer.exe, and that fixed it.

However, when I plug in my thumb drive, I go to the desktop, and try to
open a folder, I get the problem I mentioned earlier, so who knows, but

I'm using fire fox now, and it's VERY fast, which is a good thing.

However, since I'm not using Chrome, the wonderful thing with Chrome is,

are there, which are suppose to be, there are 7, web pages!!! I never
put them there.

Hello,

I haven't used Expedia or Travelocity in a couple of years but they used to
be accessible. Now when I try to set a departure date, I click on the day
or hit enter & nothing happens. I hit escape & the date I selected is
there. But when I choose a return date & do the same thing, it changes the
departure date to one day before the return date. Both Expedia &
Travelocity seem to use the same interface. I've tried numerous times but
can get no where. Does anyone have any ideas?

revert to the file I just edited and revised, bit with none of the changes I
put in before. This is gettingold and slowing down the process of getting

Currently windows 10 with word 2016

In my latest novel, I made a mistake, somewhere, and now have instead Ms.
Galahad in the sentence it comes across as milliseconds galahad.

What did I do wrong and is there anyway to correct it without letting the
editor do it for me?

I'm wondering if anyone else has trouble activating the "Call Driver"
button in the Uber app. It's apparently supposed to open the Phone app,
but mine almost always seems to do nothing. Does anyone have any

Hello list: A recent problem has cropped up and am wondering if anything
can be done about it? When typing an email, am finding that Jaws will just
stop speaking; I alt tab away and Jaws will come back. However, as soon as
I come back to the email I've been typing, Jaws freezes again! Am running
Windows 10, Jaws 2023 (latest bill.whatever that is.and Outlook 16.something

Hello,

There is an hour & a half lecture on Youtube that I would prefer to save as
an mp3 file & listen to it on my Victor Stream. I looked around on the
menus but found no way to do this. Does anyone know of a way I can download
something from Youtube as a file that I can play later, not on the computer.

When I boot up inmorning, I start getting static in my speakers, different
than the original one, where the static is consistently there.

This static comes & goes sometimes sounding like a rotary phone and other
times just static? Suggestions on why this happening.

I tried the tricks, restarting the computer, turning off NVDA for a bit, un
plugging the speakers, and etc. It doesn't stop it. It comes back after
about 2 minutes, and shuts off after about 30 seconds to a minutes.

I need to use the version of Teams which is called Teams for Home and
School. This is not the version built into Windows 11. I installed it and it
is working. If I go to the Teams support page, I'm informed that it's not
supported by the Microsoft Office support team. Does anyone know who
supports it and if it is usable with JAWS? I'm using a SharePoint site and
can select some documents for viewing. I run into issues with some pop-up

When I arrow into the link and press ENTER, nothing seems to happen. Also, when I go to the Links List in JAWS and press ENTER, the links don’t seem to work.

Greetings, all. It has been many years since I've shopped for a new laptop, so I am looking for some recommendations. For the past five years, I have used a Dell Latitude, which has worked fine but may cost more than I want to spend. I am retiring April 7, so will lose its use at that time.

Hi,
For quite a while I've been able to download shows from the Audacy
radio network by entering on the download link for the particular
show. This week they seem to change that. There doesn't seem to be a
download link. Rather when I press play/pause, it doesn't ask where I
want to download the show to. It says things like save as a html link or
get the show from things like Google Play or other places.
How can I download the shows?

Hi

Is there any mailing list for the VinVision Evo E10 and any users on this
list, I'll contact the distributors and have contacted the distributor here,
it's obviously a rival/competitor to Humanware's Victor streamers, which
seems to have more features/options, though I'm not after any comparisons as
I've never used a streamer except the internet radio on my Blindshell 1 and
any reviews or comments are not going to influence whether I get it or not
but I wondered if the device has a screen for a sighted person to be able to
check out anything that might need
