It's been a long time since I've received posts on this list, but I hope some of you are still around. I was playing around with a website called
FakeYou.com
They have a ton of text to speech character voices to choose from that sound very real. You can type in what you want them to say, though they don't always get it quite right. I made a skit using the voices of former US presidents. I think of Phil, that he would get a kick out of this. Here's the link below to the file I put up
Hi John. I haven’t gotten you subscribed under the new address as I can’t find the password for the site it’s been so long since I did anything on it. But hang on with me and I’ll be doing my best and then I can get up to speed. And thinking about your last communications I am truly sorry for the passing of your dear wife. I hope
Vicki, we have all lost passwords. Take your time. Thanks for your empathy. I'm doing ok; it is just dull and empty here.

Yes I have. It is very sad. I did pray with him. I don’t know if he is saved or not.

Sandy, the last I heard is that he wasn't doing well and that was months ago, when his daughter , Sarah, posted to one of the list we were both on.

I talk to him two weeks ago. He wasn’t doing very well then. I told him to please call if he would think that I could be of help to him or his daughter. That sure has to be a tough spot for the daughter to be in.

Please pray that I can witness to Carroll. We have talked quite a bit over the last probably two years, but I didn’t hear from him so that is why and how I found out about his cancer.

Sandy, I certainly will pray. Now, for my sad news. I lost my dear wife to a heart attack in October and moved back to Iowa in December. The pain of her loss gets less but nothing fills this empty void, without her. So, I'm in a desert place now, where it is dry and lonely, but that is what the Lord has for me. I'm living with my son and his wife and thought it is lonely here, I am thankful for a place to live and it surely beats living on the street.
John, I sure do thank you for sharing these things with me. I still am not used to Philip being gone. I wake up in the night and do all kinds of things that I really don’t know what I’m doing. I know that the Lord is with me and I have a wonderful church and wonderful kids that are very supportive. Whereabouts in Iowa are you?
Sandy, I figured it would be like that. It is harder for you because you were married longer. I was married to Anna for almost 16 years. I'm in the Earlham, De Soto area, about 15 minutes from West Des Moines. Do you know if Cicki saw my subscription change request/?

Actually, I think I did open that message about that so-called picture of God the first time, and it said something like, "This picture proves that God exists." But I never clicked on whatever it was.

I have a question for those who use a transport chair at least parttime. I'm ambulatory. However, I do want a transport chair if or when vertigo flares up. More than two weeks ago, I became so weak that I collapsed a couple of times, the final time my certified family home caregivers could not help me up, and they called 911. I went to the hospital with electrolyte imbalance, low sodium, low potassium, pneumonia. Now I'm in rehab. At this point I'm not allowed to transfer from bed to wheelchair without someone hovering, making sure things are locked.
Be praying for you sounds like you’ve really been through it. And sending you hugs.Sharon. This is Vicki. I’ve seen your message and I don’t have time to write more than to acknowledge it right now but I will get back with you later I don’t use a transport chair but praying that somebody will get on here and give suggestions your way. Sorry for the dictation errors. Be praying for you sounds like you’ve really been through it. And sending you hugs.
Does anyone know about any clean or Christian audio drama podcasts to "subscribe to? I really enjoy clean audio drama podcasts! Unshackled, which is still being broadcast on radio, is one example. Some time ago I did find the Story hour, Children's Bible Hour, and Adventures in Audesey that I used to listen to on the radio, but mostly I

There's a recreation center in town with a vending machine in the gym. But don't despair too much, as there's no need to feel quite as guilty as you would with a regular kind. Dr. Kandace Vendaweit, a fitness coach as well as a programming engineer, has invented an unusual contraption with handles, levers and pedals that surround the money slot so closely as to make it harder to find and use. The podcast is made with a program called Anchor. It’s mostly accessible. Their support contact I feel could be a lot more accessible. But otherwise pretty good. I like either the Apple podcast or the A lady for listening to podcasts. I also like overcast or down cast for listening.

I have a question about topics that are considered offensive on secular general email lists. A friend and I created an email list for people who are deafblind, to chat and share helpful resources. I understand that, in their world, they are typically against posting content that has anything to do with politics, sex and religion. But I also believe there are times when we, as Christ's witnesses, need to speak up. How do you respectfully share your faith, and lovingly warn them of the danger of refusing to repent? And what if someone does bring up the idea

They were trying to get him there but his oxygen level is very low so pray for a miracle a big one because he needs it. And they don’t need to suffer another crushing blow loss. I have had, of course, some very hard days. The Lord is faithful, though, and I know that with all of my heart. It still seems like a dream that Philip is now in the presence of the Lord, but he did suffer a lot. Everything just went so fast that even the kids have trouble getting their minds around it.
And Sandy, I’m so glad to see you back sharing on this list again. And has already been said we all do need each other. Vicki

I'm just tossing this out to see about joining or creating a special group. I'm wondering, especially with this virtual socializing, if you know of anyone who has a group, or is interested, in studying the Transformation Prayer Ministry, to learn how to conduct a session for ourselves or someone else? This type of ministry has helped me deal with emotional spiritual issues more than anything else in my life! It's about asking God to replace our lie-based beliefs with His conviction of the truth in every situation. The teaching resources are free. If there's a need to start

Glad to hear that. We are doing well too. Ben has issues with his left foot for over a year and a half; a bad diabetic wound that just wouldn't heal. He did iv antibiotics and oral ones too and nothing worked; he had a below the knee amputation about a month ago. He is doing great, has a great attitude, feels much better, is getting stronger with the wheelchair; in a few months he will be fitted for a prosthetic leg.
Hi John. Great to hear from both you and Rhonda. I’m glad to know you were also doing well we are here doing well. Sitting out on my patio. A little sunshine, a little clouds. Vicki.

The same from me too! I've read about asking The Lord to give us one word to focus on for the year, such as joy. The author who wrote the article I read the other day was led !think about joy, knowing that she would face hard times that year.
I just want you to know that my newly implanted ear is working ever since it was activated last Thursday, and I'm starting to understand a little speech. Thanks for sharing that article you wrote and read. I liked it. Didn’t know that all about your sister. What a good analogy paralleling her situation to a sinner needing Jesus in his/her heart and conversion, thus living the life of Christ. Blessings, Vicki

Wondering how and what everybody is doing these days.
For us we’ve been dealing with a little flood in our house from the bursting of an input water source to the toilet. The good thing, it was clean water. The bad thing, it was in an upstairs bathroom. So lots of things are testing my patience and quite frankly getting on my nerves. God is faithful and I know I can take all of it to him and I do. Other things are good.Family
I am glad to see us all surfacing again. I am doing well. I had two hip replacement surgeries within the past year, one in December, and one in March. I am finally getting back to where I can do things, and it feels so good to be able to move again! Glad to hear Sandy is doing well. I have been thinking about her.
Hello Peggy, glad you are feeling better and are able to get around. Ben and I are buying a house not far from our oldest daughter Jena. It's a cute little house with a porch that wraps around one side with a deck in the back. I am challenged because it has only one closet. It is about 840 square feet, small but so cute. Ben is having issues with one foot because of his diabetes; he has a wound vac and has had it for over a year. We are praying that his foot starts healing. The doctor has

hi Rhonda. Glad you are getting a house even if it does only have one closet. It’s hard to picture a house being small like that. But you said it’s cute and I bet it is. Sorry Ben is having trouble with his foot will continue to pray. Keep us posted. And it’s great to hear from you as well.
What a nuisance to have to clean up such a mess! But, if you don't mind, I think it's a blessing in disguise, 'cause it's an opportunity to clean that part of your house so you don't need to do it so soon. :)
About me. First off, the scriptures, Isaiah 26-4, you mentioned. The Lord has shown me this: "The more you trust Me, the more strength I can give you." Maybe this verse gives further details on the previous one, how this can work. We trust The Lord with confidence that He will give us the strength

Let me tell you about my sister, Judy. Judy was one of my siblings who suffered, along with one or two of our brothers in the family of seven children, from a genetic disorder that gradually destroys the kidneys. She spent some time in bed instead of at school as a young girl, but was strong enough as a young adult to become a registered Nurse. For awhile she worked in publick health, in schools and with those in the community who needed special supervision and care. I remember people warmly inquiring about Judy, how

I always appreciated the different Christian articles and testimonies that Phil would write and post to this list. As a Christian he was a prayer warior and believed that prayer was a powerful weapon of helping people to change their lives and become a better Christian. This list also introduced me to the many drvotionals for Christians that people would post and provide the information how to receive them by email.
Thanks Stanley. Those were great comments. I will be talking to Sandy as soon as it’s the right time. Because I would love to see this list continue as well. I know Phil must be talking and laughing And having a fabulous time.

It’s with deep sadness that I let you know that Phil is no longer with us on this earth. He changed his address to his heavenly home late this afternoon. Sandy and all three of his kids were by his bed side; his sister too. His other sister was with them in heart I’m sure. What a celebration must have occurred when those heavenly gates swung wide.
This is very sad news Phil was such a vibrant person with a love for the Lord. Maybe this will enable us to get this list up and going again.

Dear Phil. I know you won't read this... I know you're home now. I just wanted to thank you for being such a Godly man. You took the Gospel and truely lived it. I know you are having a blast flying with Jesus. You can see again now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening to His voice. For obeying His word. We will miss you but I know we will meet again soon. Love, Your little Sister in Christ. Jen
in the Catholic Church, we believe in the communion of saints. There are some of us who are on this side, and there are other brothers and sisters on the other side cheering us on and praying for us. Phil is on the other side now, probably still sending his love and prayers and encouragement to us, even though he can’t do it with a keyboard. And right in the center of it all is our Lord. My prayers for peace and comfort go to Sandy and his family.
Thank you so much Peggy I don’t quite know what to say myself right now but I do know that Phil is enjoying time with so many people that he loved and he went or they went before him. And I do believe there are clouds and witnesses he being one of them that will cheer us on. Thanks for your good words and comments I’m going to try to say I’ll save all these by the way I am dictating and this is going somewhere so I apologize. Hello Brothers and sisters, I'm glad for the love and sharing on this list. I'm glad Phil is happy but I know this will be a hard time for his dear family and for the rest of us who have been taught by our brother's example and his wisdom. One thing that impressed me about Phil over the years is the way he never got hung up in one little truth. He knew how to separate a sinner in need from their sin. A couple of songs that might ad some comfort are "Hello After Goodbye" , and "God Stopped
Thank you so much Donna. That was beautiful. I will do my best to pass everyone’s comments on to Phil‘s wife Sandy.

Hi Vicki, I understand something like what Phils family must be feeling, and I will be praying for abundant grace to deal with the grief monster. I thought I might share a bit of a praise report in the hope that spirits might like a small lift. I have four grandsons and three of them have been recently diagnosed with muscular distrophe. There is a new treatment which haults the detireation caused by the disease in thirteen percent of people who get it. All three boys and their uncle who has had the stuff for years are among that thirteen
Hi to everybody. Thanks again so much for praying. Jen and Peggy, great words. Yes Phil will be missed. But what awaits him is going to make him not remember the difficult times here. He was moved to a place where he should get wonderful care. Blessings to you all!
Hi. Thanks to each of you for praying. I haven’t heard from Sandy today yet. But the news is difficult from last night. Phil was not able to really respond to anything. This truly breaks my heart for both of them. But barring a huge miracle on this earth, it appears that Phil may be going home to the Lord he loves and has served for so many years. On the other hand, God is still in the miracle business today. What I do know is that both Phil and Sandy trust the Lord with all their hearts. They need
I think we need to remember that, although his leaving would be sad for us, it would be joyful for him. So really, he can’t lose no matter what happens, because God is present with him. I am continuing to pray that both Phil and Sandy will feel God‘s loving presence with them.
Good afternoon everyone. Vicki, thank you so much for the update on Phil. My heart is breaking for his suffering... but our Jesus is bigger than that. Lord, if it is your will... please show yourself in this in providing the healing I know you can. If your will is for Phil to come home to be with you... please grant him that without more suffering. In Jesus's name... amen!

Hi. Please continue to pray. Phil has suddenly taken a turn for the worse. There is likely infection involved. You guys are the best. Let’s join hands and hearts together. Sandy is with him right now as well as the kids. We have a prayer answering God.

I have always felt that I knew your dad personally for some reason. My dad died 56 years ago when I was 11 but I still cry once and awhile as if it were yesterday. I pray for you and your family. Your dad is a happy man now.
Our hearts and prayers certainly go out to you and your family. While you know he’s in heaven and free of the things that made life difficult for him, you still grieve. And yes we will pray. Sending you hugs as well. There are others on this list who have had recent close family losses. Please pray for them as well. God knows the circumstances and hearts of each and everyone of us.
Sharon, praying for you. One day all tears will be wiped away, until then we'll miss those we love.

Well, maybe you feel you know my dad is because you once allowed The Holy Spirit to dictate a prayer for him when he was in the hospital for complications and vocal chord damage from being on a ventilator twice. I'm not sure if I still have it, but I hope so.

Saying I will pray for you won’t seem like much help but, of course, I will be praying. We have prayed over the phone, as I recall, in the past and we can do so again if you like. Not having enough money when needed is one of the most difficult things to face for anyone so you are not alone. We are broke by the end of each month most months, too, and sometimes have to borrow money from friends and family. Additionally, we lend money to others and often don’t get paid back on time, if at

You all country folk sure duz a lot of driving, haha. Of course, you could live in a big city and drive 45 minutes across town to go to a doctor's appointment, then drive 45 minutes back to the other side of town for your second doctor's appointment. Driving on highways to an appointment is a lot quicker and less stressful than driving across a busy city. When Sandy and I lived in western Colorado in a town of 800 people, the two main larger cities were 45 and 60 minutes away but it never seemed that far to
I’m not completely sure about praying without ceasing. Is it a constant mouth or mind chattering, conversing with God about everyday things large and small? could it include a general watchful attitude, almost like a mode, where you think to pray first before looking at the surrounding circumstances that would otherwise overwhelm us and make us wonder how in the world we should handle it? I’ve been reading books that Jerry Jenkins wrote himself or a co-author. Many of them involve spiritual warfare, and the believers sometimes tend to take their eyes off Jesus take action, and worry before they

Hi Guys, how are you all doing, and what are you up to these days?
My dad has been living in a group home at glenns Ferry, which is closer to my brother’s farms, but has also been in and out of of hospital for several issues, and now dehydration with a bit of heart trouble and low blood pressure. It seems possible that there’s something else that might be causing dehydration that we don’t know of, because he was pushed to drink a lot of water after the last time he was in, and now he’s back in.
Sharon, I have an epub version I'll send off list. You can convert it to another format if you don't like epub, with a program like Codex or Calibre.

Hi List, Yesterday looking at my old PC drive I found 5 mp3s of a book entitled “The Martyr of the Catacombs” by Richard Roberts. Somebody had created these files from a tape recording of the book. However, the book is not complete and I am wondering if anybody on the list might have or know where to find the remaining mp3 files. I would like to listen to the entire book if possible. Also there was one mp3 of “Poor Joseph” which I have not listened to as yet and so do not know if there should be more
Well, my dad finally needed to be moved, so he no longer lives with my sister. He's in a group home with 14 people, called Poplar Grove. It's in a town called Glenns Ferry, which means that I'll probably have some nice drives with my sister to go visit. He's closer now to two of my brothers.
I thought you would find this interesting. Paul Harvey used to have a series called The Rest of the Story and this sort of falls into that category.
Some time ago, I asked if anyone spoke French on this list. This had to do with words I spoke, two words, only two words, to be exact, which I spoke in tongues one day out in my office. They were spoken without prior thought and were plain as day, yet, I had not even thought of speaking in tongues, or English for that matter, when they came from my mouth.
Phil. Thanks so much for sharing this. I love the rest of the story. You always encourage my heart. I will be thinking on this. This morning I felt the Lord ask me why don’t you ask me for miracles. I told him I guess I never thought about it. So maybe that goes along with God God is. “
I have sold the Lord short as far as miracles my whole life. Recently, I have been asking Him to show me how to believe in miracles and in the miracle working God.

I have sure been thinking a lot about that myself Phil. It went through my mind I wonder how many miracles could’ve been mine if I just asked. Looking at some of the Scriptures and James I know that my motive has to be right. But still, and what does the Lord have in store for us? I know it’s good because he said it is.
Well, I was wrong about where Dad is going. The town is called Glens Ferry, which I believe is even closer to brother Dale and farm. I also went there to public school. Sister Judy and hubby Wendell plan to go on a business trip the 17th, and other sibs will take over and move him on the 18th, hoping that he won't feel abandoned by the ones who had cared for him. I hope that helps him. The place seems homey, with only 14 residents, activities every day, living room with open kitchen, his own room and bathroom. Seems

Dad’s been home and hasn’t complained about more back pain but uses a walker right now. But my sister Judy is finally at the end of her rope of caring for him at home, so we plan to move him to a place in Mountain Home in Idaho. It’s farther away from us but closer to our brother Dale’s farm. He is so confused now that he sometimes needs help getting dressed. I went to Judy’s house to be with him and allow her and husband Wendell to go do something else. He seemed to want to talk with me

Hello everybody. Sandy and I have been tied up lately with some church activities and services but also with things relating to our health and going to doctor appointments. My typing has slowed down considerably, maybe to 30 words per minute, so I am not as apt to sit down and type a message as I once was. I purchased this mac over 4 years ago with the idea in mind of using the voice recognition built in program. So it is time to start spending more time with it than straight typing.
I don’t know if you are subscribed to Bookshare, but I am now reading a book by Charles Stanley called The blessings of Brokenness, which I’m still having trouble accepting for myself right now. I understand if you want these trials to be gone immediately! But I hope you can take emotional comfort from The Lord. , please know that God does not enjoy your pain. I would say he feels worse about it than you do, like a daddy saying, “this is going to hurt me more than it’ll hurt you,” when he uses his belt on you.
Greetings, I have a ten volume KJV Concordance in good condition which needs to find a new home. It was originally published by the American Bible Society and embossed by the American Printing House in the 1940’s. Unfortunately, free shipping outside the U.S. is not practical. Also, I have The Beginners Bible by Karyn Henley, published in 9 small volumes by Braille Bibles International which needs a new home as well. If this interests you let me know.
Dad has been moved to Boise for maybe a week to ten days. He slept most of the first night, and staff found him in the shower the next morning! Judy has brought him green beans to break into pieces, and he seems to enjoy something to keep him busy. I hope I can go over there to hang out one of these days. Thank You Lord for his care and peace of mind.

I found out later that Dad is doing very well! The pt took him out into the hall with a walker, and he sometimes sits up in a chair.
The place hesitated to take on someone with dementia, so the social worker is visiting to help make the decision.
However, Judy said that he has a red area on his boney coccyx. I hope you're not tired of explaining things, but I don't know what the coccyx is either. Is there an accessible medical dictionary where I can quickly find those terms I don't understand?
It is bind to ask me Sharon. The coccyx is the tailbone and it is very common to get sores there when a person is not physically active. It sure does sound like your dad is doing very well.

Well, so far I haven't heard much, but he is supposed to move to the Boise care facility tomorrow. My sister Judy said a head nurse s^d the staff wasn't working up to standard care, and that she would order a pressure preventive matress. You know, I wish every patient could have a caring family keeping medical personel on their toes while sitting with him or her.
Thank you Jesus for being with Sharon and her family during this time. Thank you for your love grace and mercy. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
And remember Jesus loves you.

Dad was awake several times during last night, more confused. Meds have managed the pain well enough for him to sit up in a chair this morning! How can he do that safely with a fractured l1? He was able to eat a bit of soft food with thickened liquids for breakfast. He looked tired, and started feeling cold sitting up, so they had to give him more layers of clothes and warmer blankets until he said he felt warm.

Oh, so l1 is not at the tail end of the spine? Is it more in the middle?
Thanks for explanations.
And by the way, now that voice recognition is being used to transcribe medical data, is it too late to become a transcriber, as a Braille screen reader user to edit mistakes? I studied medical transcription years ago when it was offered at Hadley, but I eventually decided that it would be too emotionally stressful at that time. > On Jul 23, 2018, at 10:14 AM, Sandy Scovell <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > > I failed to mention that you are
L1 would be the top of the lumbar region which would be in the lower portion of the back.

Dad had to have two ct scans before they figured out what's going on. The 2nd scan showed a fractured £1. Apparently he's been able to get relief from a medication other than morphine which didn't work and caused more confusion than he has already. Judy and his caregiver don't think he has dementia like I previously thoughten He's apparently just confused, and he seems to know that. It goes up and down, like when he gets dehydrated or has other issues. Dad agreed that those who have stayed with him are free to go home for the night, but
