>People often refer to raw foodists as if they're all raw vegans, >even here on this list, where we have a number of members who eat >all raw without being vegans or vegetarians. > >So I'm wondering: Is it most people's experience that raw vegans >far outnumber raw non-vegans? May be they are just louder to compensate for the insecurity arising from trying to maintain a long term vegan diet when most of the old timers in raw vegan end up quitting the idea, . may be the non vegan rawfoodists feel content and satisfyed enought to be as lazy as a lion after a good meal. In north america ,it is certainly more popular to be a raw vegan than in France where most of the raw foodists are non vegan. Coming from France to Canada i have been surprised by the reaction of peoples about me eating raw meat, there is so much obsession here about "cleanliness" ,fear base hygiene , that just the idea is "yukky". In france the idea is better accepted because raw seasonned meat like saucisson and raw hams are very common and popular. And we like our cheeses smelly and full of life ( have you ever seen a microcospic view of cheese crust , that is alive...) The cliche of a good picnic meal is a good saucisson , a small cheese ,a good piece of Bread and a quart of red wine.( 75 % raw meal ) jean-claude
