Hi, Over 80 percent of the Internet and ISP's used the K56-Flex technology in their 56K modems, and over half of them have yet to switch to v.90 although the trend is picking up steam. The fact that X2 was less stable and had more transmission errors on the Internet was a dirty little secret that 3Comm/US-Robotics really hoped you'd never discover. With all that horsepower in that little box, you should have no problems on the Internet, even if you're going to use Windows 98 and the latest, slowest, most bloated ElephantWare from MicroSoft or NetScape. If you're going to show sales presentations that are full-motion 3D video, real-time movies with CD-quality audiophile stereo sound, the Toshiba ain't enough computer for you. For what over 90 percent of all computer users do with a personal computer, it could replace your desktop machine if the keyboard is comfortable for hours of typing and you can look at the screen for a few hours at a time without eyestrain. I've been following the development of laptop and notebook computers since 1988, and using them extensively since 1990, and Toshiba and IBM are at the very top for quality, durability, and reliability, across the entire model line. Some, though not all, models from Compaq, Dell, Acer, and Texas Instruments, are also very good. It sounds like quite a good deal. By the way, where are you getting such a deal on this machine, anyway?
