Why do you have a backslash between the colon and the MSCD?
Do you also have the backslash in the DEVICE statement in CONFIG.SYS?
Get rid of them.

If you are not sure of the I/O and IRQ addresses, then open the case and
look at the jumper settings on the CD and/or the interface card it
connects to.
