Terrazzo is a composition material, poured in place or pre-cast, used as a
floor (sometimes wall) treatment and consists of marble chips in a binder
(cementitious or non-cementitious) which is cured and then ground smooth and
polished. Panels are created using metal divider strips. It was used by the
Greeks and Romans.
