Old Stone walls usually incorporated stone that was cut on one side, sometimes
more.  A large part of a stone masons day was spent cutting these faces (or
yelling at his lazy apprentice to go faster), then figuring out which one goes
where.  The value in these stones then, is the fact that they already have
been worked, thus saving time for the mason.
