<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Michelle asked how to get an uninterested child to eat. I once read an interesting article about getting a tupperwear like container with many little compartments & putting different healthy foods in it for the child to choose what is interesting for him/her. Dried fruits, different veggies, nuts etc. Just let them graze what is interesting for them. Sometimes pressure to eat makes the kids get into a power struggle so if you are neutral, that may put the kabosh on that. Another thing to do is (since this is for a 2 year old).... make raisin faces on peanut butter open faced sandwiches or pancakes- be artistic! let the child spread the jam or make the cracker sandwich. Kids that age tend to like the hands on stuff....so look for opportunities for them to stir or add or offer 2 choices so they feel like they "picked". Yes this can get messy-- but if it's more fun/relaxed they might find eating a more enjoyable experience. Could be you are in a rut with the same old foods..... try some different fruits & veggies or letting the child participare in being the cook's helper. Looks like my suggestion is to somehow make food *fun*. ~Fran --
