<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> I was very grateful for the 25 replies to my query regarding hair loss. Of the 15 or so people who related personal experiences, 13 told me to be patient: apparently six to 18 months is not unusual to have to wait after starting the diet. Of the two who had not experienced regrowth, one has spent several years trying to track down the cause and now suspects the endocrine system/adrenal glands (which I was wondering about myself), and the second had had alopecia areata (baldness in spots) for several years before going on the diet. Several of these respondents also suggested taking multi-vitamins. Those not relating personal experiences warned of hidden gluten intake as a possible cause for continued hair loss after commencement of the diet; advised blood tests to rule out thyroid problems, vitamin malabsorption, diabetes, parasites, metal poisoning, and anemia (all of which I've been tested for several times -- I should have mentioned that in my posting); and suggested investigating various supplements such as B-6, B-12, folic acid, and niacin. Thank you again for your help. --Marji Rhea Cleveland, Ohio, USA
