I have had problems with memory not seating properly in some motherboards. (This will cause a bad post.) Try other memory chips, (if you can get them), and make sure they are firmly seated. The offending chips I came across were "skinny" and not making contact in the slots of a new motherboard. Swithched memory and voila, the problem solved. -----Original Message----- From: Mike Bridges <[log in to unmask]> Date: Sunday, August 09, 1998 3:36 PM Subject: Re: [PCBUILD] New main board-no POST >Mark Rode wrote: >> >> Are you positive it has power ? >> >Mark, >It has power, the video card is good as is the ram. They are the same ones >that were running on the other board and cpu yesterday.Like you,I have a >hard time believing it would be the new motherboard or CPU but don't >know what else to try. >Thanks, >Mike >
