My friend and I just got two identical machines (Pentium 233, 32M, 4GHD, motherboard is a PCChips 575 with on-board sound). Each machine has a different problem, and before we take them back to the retailer, we just want to make sure we are not doing something wrong because we are not familiar with Win95 (OSR2) and its inner workings. Problem 1 appears to be software related. Machine #1 was loaded with a licensed copy of Winfax Pro Ver 4.0. When Machine #2 was attempted to be loaded with the same software (a second set of original licensed disks - no software piracy here), it crashes in the setup screen of InstallShield after you enter your user name and ser.no. Says it performed an illegal task. Is there another way to get the software loaded without going through the install shield? (don't say go to WFP 8.0 for win95, that is not an option.) Problem 2 is hardware related and will be posted to PCBuild. -- Jean Bourvic
