This I know is going to be of almost no help, but my NT server did this too for 7 or 8 weeks then switched to complete lock-up, no mouse no nothing. Re-boots always brought the system up with no data lost, no detectable hardware problems in tests. First I thought, bad operating system or registry, then bad motherboard, but a friend suggested replacing the PCI 3com card with a good Kingston ISA card, just in case the 3com was good and the PCI sub-system was giving us trouble. Problem solved. So I put the 3com in a desktop, and the desktop started acting up on regular, but long, maybe 18 hours, intervals. So I trashed the 3com. Admittedly, your problem could be the merest of coincidences to mine. Oh, I assume it did work fine for awhile. Mine was running over a year before it started giving trouble. tom turak [log in to unmask] Wondering if anyone has encountered this problem: Our NT4 (SP3) server reboots itself for no apparent reason every 3 days or so. The system, assembled by MicroPro last summer, includes: The system has two NICs, a Daystar for Appletalk/Localtalk for our older Macs and a 3Com Ethernet card. Chuck Finnigan [log in to unmask]
