Larry Thanks for your reply... I had previously put the "REM" and ";" the "config.sys, autoexec.bat"... so this is Not my problem.. The CD-ROM is recognized and Installed properly by win95 .. In fact.. when it disappears we do an "Install New Hardware" and win 95 finds the CD and reinstalls it (until I restart).. Sometimes when I shut down (and sometimes when I restart) I get the following message: WINDOWS The Volume that was removed had open files on it. Next time please check first to see if the volume can be removed.. (press any key..) and when I press any key the System "locks".. I can also restore the CD-ROM using ERD.EXE (Emergency Recover Utility).. But.. alas when I shut down... the "Volume message" comes up.. Suggestions Please!! al CONFIGURATION: P100, 32RAMk, Linksys NIC,No sound card, Samsung 830 CD-ROM,zoltrix 33.6 voice modem At 10:11 PM 3/11/98 -0700, you wrote: >Al; > > Check and see if your cdrom is loading in Dos. >(config.sys, autoexec.bat} If so REM out the lines that are >loading the drivers, and let win95 detect it.
