<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Having these 2 diseases at your doorstep makes us have to re-think & question so many aspects of our lives. Would a child be just as thrilled to find an Easter basket filled with a jump rope, colored chalk, cool markers & stickers & other fun stuff, than gross amounts of sugar laden things that cause children who are given way too much of it to act weirdly on holidays that have traditionally been focused, or at least have a heavy emphasis on candy? It seems much of society continues this tradition, even though we know it's bad healthwise. It's getting easier for me to walk on by the entire aisle dedicated to easter candy... but I think it's especially hard for kids w/ cel-diab to have these holiday affronts. I have 2 kids, (currently don't exhibit either disease), but realize they have the genetic potential to wind up with both. I'm trying to break these old habits & traditions, and maybe help them avoid winding up where I have. I'd like to kick some of these ideas around... listmates ? Fran
