In my layperson's opinion, I'd mostly agree.  Except that you don't drink
coffee on Neanderthin, remember?

Seriously, it's pretty unlikely that people ate honey with any frequency
10,000+ years ago, so technically it's probably almost on par with refined
sugar in that the body is no more prepared to deal with one than the other.
 It's a matter of judgement.  I don't think someone like me who has weight
to lose should be messing around with it.

        So, all in all, honey is the best of the worse as far as sugar and
sugar substitues go.  It's not some weird chemical manufactured by Dow
Corning.  And it's not Refined White Sugar.  It's not good for you, but it
is the least bad of the bad things you could put in your coffee.
