*** Vegetarian advisory: explicit RAF below *** :-) Kirt: > Yet you seemed to be able to limit your fruit intake, no? I am currently eating on average 1 lb fruit/day and 1.25 lb RAF/day (the weights are very approximate). When I say "fruit", it's in the common sense, i.e. sweet fruit. I also eat tomatoes and/or cucumber at several meals/week, as well as a large avocado sometimes. Some days, I eat almost no fruit (1 apple, for instance), and some days I eat 1 lb of dates. As for the RAF part, most of it is unfortunately non-organic, but the high-quality RAF I eat in 1 week is: 1 doz. eggs, 1/2 lb cheese (another supplement!), 4 chicken breasts, and fish in variable quantity. The non-organic part consists of beef or lamb, usually the fatty cuts, often mixed with marrow. I don't know it that's very instincto, but I can perfectly imagine our moderately intelligent ape-like ancestors crouching near a dead animal, and extracting the bone marrow while still chewing some bits of meat that were sticking around the bone... Despite the poor quality of the beef or lamb I eat, I usually find it very good, and have no problems eating RAF every day if I rotate between all of those. Apart from RAF, fruit and vegetable-fruits, I eat a significant (more than 1 lb/week) amount of: nuts, mushrooms, carrots, lettuce. I also like celery, but can't eat more than 1 stick when I am at the outer parts. I sometimes eat other stuff (like sprouts, seaweed...) but in far less quantity. That's why I think my diet lacks variety (compared to hunter-gatherers' diet, for instance), and think that cooked veggies are a good supplement. Best wishes, Jean-Louis [log in to unmask]
