I know that my question/inquiry this isn't 100% related to celiac
disease, but perhaps some of you experience this and can tell me
what's happening. So many of you know so much about food!!

Whenever I eat a smoked meat or fish such as turkey or salmon,
whether commercially smoked or smoked on the barbeque at home
(with smoking chips, not just barbequed to be cooked), I have
serious indigestion and heartburn. The same food, unsmoked,
does not cause a reaction. What is it about the barbequeing
process that could cause this? In the case of the turkey, at least,
I know that no artificial smoke flavoring or barbeque sauce was
added.

Thanks,
Nancy
