<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Some observations I've made as my body adjust to this new GF diet: I seem to "backing out" of the symptoms I've experienced over five years of wheat sensitivity/gluten intolerance/CD. I'm now experiencing symptoms I dealt with 4 or 5 years ago as I first became aware of this weird thing. I interpret this as signs that my body is healing and retrogressing through degrees of health of my small intestines. I hope so, anyway... Another observation I find fascinating is the relationship to exercise. I've been very active throughout this whole period, commuting by bike daily and running long distances regularly. I've always been puzzled that the strange things that were happening to my "innards" didn't seem to negatively affect my ability to engage in aerobic exercise. In fact, in my first and only, abortive, attempt to consult a doctor about my condition, he was puzzled by my good health and the symptoms I was describing. After I received mt prescription for anti-depressants (which I threw away) I never went back. Anyway, it seems that regular, moderate exercise is important in dealing with the symptoms of CD and in promoting a healthy immune system to support recovery. I'm still alternating days running 45 minutes and biking 7 miles to work. Some days I'm tired after a work out, but I don't see any connection between my digestive system and my ability to exercise. Interesting thing, this body of ours! Mike Lewis Fairbanks
