<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Hi, Does you son by any chance like rice cakes? I like them with peanut butter, egg salad, and tuna. They aren't even too bad holding a hamburg. I prefer the Quaker salted ones to the unsalted. I also like them toasted with margarine (not too practical for school lunches). I've been a teacher and have heated many a meal in the teacher's lounge. If you contact the school nurse and explain the situation, you may need a doctor's note, but you should be able to get his meals heated. This way you can send "leftovers" which is what I ate when I was teaching. I planned to cook a little extra for dinner then took my lunch out first and put it in a microwaveable dish and refrigerated it until the next day. Fruit and munchies can be added for variety. Good luck with a little creativity, your son will be the envy of the lunch table! Caroline in Charlotte [log in to unmask]
