Phil, Sounds like a great idea. Whitney's really is the best and Lady Gaga's was surprisingly good. I was born in 1974 and things are already so different. A great aunt of mine turned 93 today. She was born in 1923, so she was in her early twenties toward the end of World War two. Can you imagine what she thinks about how the world has changed? You know that practically nothing resembles what she grew up with. The attitudes, the morals, and everything else.  Tim

Although somewhat off topic, I have decided what I am going to do to protest the NFL players showing their disrespect for their own country and the national flag as well as the nation’s anthem. Over all the years I have faithfully listened to the super bowl, my all time favorite rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner, our nation’s anthem was sung by Whitney Houston during super bowl 25 when the Buffalo Bills played the Giants; the Giants winning by a single point, 20 to 19. It was also during the tail end of the first Golf war and the feeling of patriotism seemed to be higher than I can ever remember it for some reason. Whitney did, in my opinion, better than Lady Gaga in the last super bowl, 50, when Denver beat the Panthers 24 to 10. The other day, I was thinking about my opinion concerning the NFL players kneeling on one knee in protest during the national anthem. You know, the guys pulling down millions of American dollars who think they have the freedom to protest the very country that made them rich? Anyhow, I decided what I could do. I went and got my iPhone 7 and logged on to Apple iTunes. Finding the single cut of Whitney Houston’s version of the Star-Spangled Banner and downloaded it. Every day since, I have listened at least once per day to her singing the anthem and I plan on doing it until I am not able to do so any more. Hopefully, that will be a long time from now. I either get goose bumps or tears come to my eyes or I get a big lump in my throat every time I listen to her sing our nation’s anthem. Although Lady Gaga doesn’t impress me personally, her single, if not on iTunes, can be found on youtube and she does a mighty fine job. When I consider how far our country has drifted morally and ethically since I was a boy going to school in the late 1950s and early 1960s, listening to the Star Spangled Banner once a day is the least I can do for my country.
