insure that no wires dangle down to the level where he can grab on to them. Keep tabs on him to make sure he's not trying to climb up on the desk, though at 8 months old I doubt he'd get too far...the only way he could have knocked that power supply off is if he grabbed on to, or hung off dangling wires...keep those out of his reach and things will be peachy. It's like anything else in the house...baby proofing usually means a simple matter of keeping certain items out of vertical reach and insuring that there is no chair, stool or other item that can be climbed upon to reach that particular item you wish to keep out of reach lol. You have to think strategically otherwise they will find a way. Use tape or snap ties to secure wires if you can't help having them go to the floor etc...secure them to something solid as a strain relief if he does manage to grab on or hang on. Also, firmly engrain in his mind that playing around that area of the house is not acceptible...he's young yet to understand that, but keep reminding him that he's not supposed to play around the ham desk and he'll remember that forever...though of course, including him in the fun part of talking on the radio and enjoying the radio is very important. Thankfully he's little enough that you can nip this in the bud while you have time...if you wait until they are 2 or so it's a much harder job hahahaha. I've always had guitars and amps and music gear and radio equipment and computer equipment scattered all over my house...I showed the kids early on how to respect that stuff without being afraid of it or thinking they were negative items because they got in trouble for touching or moving them. It's more of an expectation of behavior rather than scolding each time they do something. 73 Colin, V A6BKX -----Original Message----- From: Mark Torgerson Sent: Sunday, January 04, 2015 2:24 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Baby proofing ham shack Hi =20 Today my sonWho is only eight months oldmanaged to knock over a 10 pound pow= er supply.
