Words are tools used to manipulate as are screw drivers.  They can be used positively or negatively.  As children our parents used them to negatively impact us to get us to do what they wanted us to do.  Because that was what was best for us to do.  When we become adults and have children we understand the power of words to manipulate our children to do what is also best for them.  This understanding ought to cause us to examine the hidden agenda behind the use of words.  As Satan is a created being, he can not create.  That is why we were created in God's image.  Because only we humans and God have the power to actually create, and why we humans are superior to the Angels in the spiritual hierarchy.    This is why the only power Satan has is in his ability to manipulate us with words or thoughts, which appear often as words, to do what he desires.  Gods agenda is pure and is always positive.  Which is why it is his word we must  never focus away from, and why we should be extremely cautious about incorporating the words of others in our personal belief systems.

I think I have a pretty good self esteem, but sometimes I can become negative if I am surrounded by a lot of negativity. I know what God thinks of me, suppose I need to place more importance on God than I do on the negative thoughts, or words I might hear from others.
