I never had a babyface but as long as I had yours to envy, I was ok. Until now. If I ever had a babyface Galleh you know am about to lose it fast. And I can't blame the universities.

True about Djibril Niane. Some of his works/manuscripts etc. can never be recovered. I'll think about what I can do, perhaps in partnership with you to ensure proper records aggregation and storage in West Africa. I'm working a project now that can perhaps incorporate such an idea. If you ever feel like you can devote some time and consideration to such a project, I'd be delighted to partner with you in that regard. It holds enormous promise for Historians and archaeologists.

The value I yielded from Pappa's show is how to make his work easier for a smoother delivery of his product. His work product and expertise are severely maligned by the paucity of resources and innovation in hardware. A bit of personal coaching will also go a long way but I can do very little about that. That seems to be a personal consideration. I will be looking at the global value of the griot craft and tradition.

Thanx again Galleh. Let's keep this conversation going in private so I can save Laye the need for improvement.

Haruna.

Thanks Haruna. Yes, these universities make us lose our baby faces fast. How is your baby face Haruna? Please hold fast unto it!

I'm sorry to hear about D. T. Niane's library. He has become an icon of African oral historiography. Great that Conde is stepping up to help, even though some historical documents are simply irreplaceable. Hope you enjoy the show Haruna.

Nice Galleh. You looked great. You almost blended in the wall behind you. I'm glad I wasn't jinkoying. And you're losing your babyface fast Galleh. I don't know if I like these universities too tough.

On a serious note though Galleh, did you realize Niang suffered a fire that nearly consumed his entire library and some important works? President Conde' has promised to make this library whole again though. Good news. Don't know if its the same Niang you spoke of.

I'm still viewing the program. Just thought I'd share.

Haruna.

Hello Friends,

I thought I should share this Youtube video on a Gambian griot performance at Creighton University. Alhaji Pappa Suso, accompanied by balafon player Bala Kuyateh, was invited to the Creighton campus by the Uniersity's Black Studies Program as part of activities marking Black History Month. I was asked to give the introductory remarks explaining the role of the griot in Mande society.
