Haruna,

If you look at BostonGlobe.com today, you'll see an article with the picture of a little girl with a familiar face.

The picture is just the beginning of the first in-depth story, and accompanying video, of the campaign about Elizabeth's childhood and early family life. Elizabeth even gave the Globe a tour of the neighborhoods where she grew up and the schools she attended.

If all you've heard about Elizabeth is her fight to level the playing field for middle class families, this story may help you understand a lot more about how she came to be the person she is today.

Take a look at today's Boston Globe video -- and then share it with friends on email, Facebook or Twitter:

Elizabeth will be the first to admit -- she wasn't someone who grew up thinking, "Someday I'm going to run for the U.S. Senate."

When you watch the video, you'll see that her journey was similar to many others out there and was possible because she grew up at a time when America used to invest in kids like her. It was an America that told families that if you worked hard and played by the rules, you -- and your kids -- could have a fair shot at the American Dream.

Since then, Washington changed those rules -- and lost sight of families that just want to give their kids a fair chance to get ahead.

This election, we have a chance to turn that around. That's what this campaign is all about for Elizabeth and for all of us: leveling the playing field so every kid from the ragged edge of the middle class has an opportunity to have a story like this.

I hope you'll take a few minutes to watch Elizabeth's Boston Globe video, and then share it with your friends:
