Alagi Yorro Thanks, but for me, the only inspiring sentence in Jobs' "last words" is "Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose". When I checked my mail this morning and saw ATT's headline message about the passing of the legendary technological visionary that was Jobs, tears flowed, and here is the reason why. At 56, Jobs conquered the world by making himself a global household name. A billionaire many times over, he departed our world because death knocks on every single human door. I then asked myself why I should live in the indignity of a pervasive dictatorship because of a paralysing fear of unlawful arrest, of unlawful detention, of torture, even death. Jobs died and death must come to you and I however far we live from our repressive homeland political system. In the traumatic condition of our nation's public space, dying in bed would be the ultimate disgrace for a Gambian. If we have a credible united front, I am happy to die this November fighting for a dignified public space right inside my native Gambia. This was the overpowering inspiration I got from Jobs' passing. Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.
