Off the top of my head I can’t help but I recall when doing some solar design, we were able to use Long/Lat and date info for sunrise and arc across the sky. Heck the Egyptians did it, I’ll bet you can too!

Somewhat related to preservation question:

How do I determine, in advance, at what point on the compass the sun is going to rise if I will be standing at a specific lat/long point in North America?

I have designed a monument for the Vietnam War dead of my small hometown. I want it oriented so that one of the edges of the sculpture points directly to the compass point of sunrise on the day when first guy was KIA, March 4. I can't figure out how to do it without going down there and standing at the spot where the monument will be. Come on pinheads, help a guy out.

Can I make this any more confusing, other than to say I've designed it of Jerusalem stone?
