Hey Michael… “best laid plans”.  Two things I remember an old farmer used to say – “I never look at the heads.”  And his wife:  “Men are like tiles, you lay them right the first time, and you can walk all over them for the rest of your life”.

When the First national Bank of chicago was renovated and we were restoring the collumns outside a black demo crew showed up on a fri and announced they were to demo the entire 50's interior of its Black (with white veined ) 3/4 inch polished marble.
starting on monday
Today we have whats most likely the only  20x15 marble floor bathroom in our  Mississippi  county ;(long way from the two holer that was here )  we raised everything cabinets (which had legs) and doors to cut it to fit under  . I found a "presidential "sized tub in an old hotel that you can disapeer in ;plus two big white (20's) sinks ;plus washer and dryer ;all raised and set on the marble including holes cut for the plumbing . Since I did the work myself with a helper the costs were minimal ;except for the mantra from my Mrs about "when is the floor going to be finished "  took two weeks as I did the 32x36 marble in  bookends and had to cut thresholds for shower commode and two entrances .
When all the farmers come over to visit the first thing their wives want to see is the bathroom ; where the "picture window "overlooks the fields ...
