Hey Michael… “best laid plans”. Two
things I remember an old farmer used to say – “I never look at the
heads.” And his wife: “Men are like tiles, you lay them
right the first time, and you can walk all over them for the rest of your life”.
Best,
Leland

Subject: [BP] stone flooring details
When
the First national Bank of chicago was renovated and we were restoring the
collumns outside a black demo crew showed up on a fri and announced they were
to demo the entire 50's interior of its Black (with white veined ) 3/4 inch
polished marble.
starting on monday
Today we have whats most likely the only 20x15 marble floor bathroom in
our Mississippi county ;(long way from the two holer that was here
) we raised everything cabinets (which had legs) and doors to cut it to
fit under . I found a "presidential "sized tub in an old hotel
that you can disapeer in ;plus two big white (20's) sinks ;plus washer and
dryer ;all raised and set on the marble including holes cut for the plumbing .
Since I did the work myself with a helper the costs were minimal ;except for
the mantra from my Mrs about "when is the floor going to be finished
" took two weeks as I did the 32x36 marble in bookends and had
to cut thresholds for shower commode and two entrances .
When all the farmers come over to visit the first thing their wives want to see
is the bathroom ; where the "picture window "overlooks the fields ...
