insulsmart

Patrick,

I have never heard of Insulsmart but

Yes, yes and yes, you are correct

Sounds like a real bad idea. Most spray insulation materials are vapor barriers

Where do they want to do this? Could the bldg interior be colder than the exterior???

I have never heard of filling the cavity between the sheathing and the back of the brick, is this where they want to install it? This will cause a moisture bridge and surely lead to leaks.

If they want to fill the stud space, that might/probably is a good idea. Some of the contemporary foams work real well and don’t shrink.

What location is this?

What is the frequency Kenneth?

Anybody familiar with Insulsmart ?

The Army proposes to use this product on an historic brick house with plaster walls.  They want to fill the cavity wall.

I have opened up frame builidings that had foam sprayed in the cavities.  Foam was shrunken and nasty and provided little to no insulation.

In a masory cavity wall will this foam insulation set up as a vapor barrier?   And then cause moisture problems?

I think this insulation will cause problems down the road
