Joyce, Since you have Verizon, why not go with their DSL service? I had my Verizon phone service removed and DSL only installed. My cost monthly is$ 30.00 and has been very reliable. I use Vonage for phone service at $34.00 mo. The only problem with Vonage is ocassional loss of service Which is easily corrected. Vonage automatically goes to Voice mail if service is down and sends an Email with voice attachment to let you know who called. As an aside I use Dish tv and so far haven't lost signal in the worst weather, which is more than I can say about Directv. My maximum dial-up speed is just too darned slow for today's sites, and there won't be another way to connect to high-speed "out here" in the rusty hills of Ohio for many more years, if ever in my lifetime. Moving is not an option. My question is, will a VOIP service (such as Vonage or Magic Jack) work with a satellite connection? I'm getting ____ sick and tired of Verizon, and I think I'd save money over their, uh, "service" if it's possible to do this...
