Is there a source for reclaiming teak and etc. from ships/ boats, etc.  Who knows where to find salvaged Ph mahogany, teak, and the like?
Mary, thank you, but things like raising sunken galleons, excavating pilgrim ducking stools, recovering ridge poles from L'Anse Aux Meadows, helmet-diving to piece apart flatboats sunk in sudden storms on Lake Erie, are too ambitious for me - I am the sissy-woodworker on this list, as others will attest.

I was sort of thinking of what I could ... buy at the lumber yard on Beach Road.   I do have some loose 18th century house timbers in basement (relics of when this 1770 house was moved down-island from Watcha Pond to its present location in 1948, then denatured and reconstructed as a cape) but, at 12", they are a tad wide for my Skilsaw.
