The Steve Biko FC forward, who was prolific for his country’s Under-17 side during the 2009 African Under-17 Championship qualifiers, failed to make the trip to the finals in Algeria after he lost consciousness at a Baby Scorpionstraining session at the Independence Stadium.Tests conducted by the team’s doctors revealed the player had a heart problem and suggested a specialist medical treatment before he resumed his promising career."He was an exceptionally talented kid," Kemo Ceesay, a senior official of Steve Biko FC told Observer Sports."He was a self-motivated kid who had an inner-confidence about himself. His death is a big loss for not only Steve Biko Football Club, but also the Gambian sports fraternity."He died at a time when he was just about to try out his luck in Europe.
