I own two of them.  They take the ic2at batteries although the battery that 
comes with the radio has to be plugged into the wall wart charger and can't 
be charged by the Icom drop in charger but the bigger batteries can be 
charged that way.  I've had several batteries rebuilt either by batteries 
America or e.f.Yost and they're just like a brand new battery pack. 73- pat
