Koto Baba,
As usual thanks for your sobering perspective on this soon-to become exclusively Afro-Arab phenomenom of lour eaders or dealers over-staying their welcome in charge of political power, which ultimately belongs to us, the people. We must still continue to advocate for the Rule of Law and urge respect for the Fundamental Human Rights of all pepoples regardless of their origin, race, colour, creed, ethnicity, religion, reality or feignings or even political or ecnomical, social or economic background.
Hopefully in Guinea, the reactionaries seems to have been controlled as of now. We pray that La Guinea's next badge of leaders will emulate the Malian system of progressive political co-existence with term-limits rather than our Gambian self-perpetuating no-term limit system. In his first interview as Chairman AFPRC Jammeh said even 2 terms was too much for any leader post-Sir Dawda era. Now, he can't have enough of it. Because Britain does not have term-limits for their PMs or Monarchs does not also mean that The Gambia's presidency or monarchy should not have term-limits. A big mistake! Methinks!
No-one can outlive death. Sooner or later, death catches up! May we all be in good conditions when the angel of death inevitably arrives to take away our different souls for ultimate reward or punishment. Guinean civil and military leaders should be advised and encouraged to resort to the free and fair verdict of the people for the common good. Otherwise, more unjustifiable poverty and diseases, hardship fand deaths for the vast majority of the peoples. No more dictatorship, Yes more democracy! Power from God to the people for good use only. Political power not unlike tecnology is neutral. Though the users or custodians hardly are. Of course, Dictators can retire! Castro did. Any volunteer out there? Mugabe, Ghaddafi, Bashir, Bongo, Museveni, Kigame, Mubarak, Jammeh, Debbie, Biya, Zenawi. Cling on till either we or you get tired. Let us remember that None can outlive society!
Too much to say within limited time.
Bailo
Power is to serve not to enjoy at the peoples expense.
