I have one of those VISTA's too, and when I removed the battery and cleared the BIOS (cmos ) my date returned to the build date in 2001. Right click on the clock in your bottom bar, then on reset clock, reset it and you are done. Be sure to replace the battery, it's a #2032 built like a quarter! Then when it finally does, the system date has been reset to 1/1/2000. And that gives me all kinds of security alerts when I try to acdess a web site. I've seen this problem listed before sometime in the past and believe it's a battery problem for the cmos (did I say that right?). But would like a confirmation. Thanks.
