That cured silicone tape is known as 1-2-3 Tape. It is highly elastomeric. We use it to seal over large moving gaps in materials so EIFS joints sounds like a good use if you don't mind seeing a much larger than normal sealant joint.
A few seasons ago we used the GE silicone tape on a 70 x 40 flat/pitched skylight up in Ossining. It was 1980s era architecture. No complaints so far.
