In NYC with the preponderance of tenement size flat roofs the modified bitumen torch down is a better quality and longer lasting roof than 90lb in cold roof cement, easier on the logistics than a hot asphalt, more durable than an EPDM, and has been less expensive than a fluid resin & floss roof. Once crews were trained it is more productive for them to repeat what they know how to do. The technology in adhesive applied modifieds has improved, but for the most part they have been not very satisfactory.
