Greetings-- It's been a while since I've used Win98SE, but I believe that when you choose command prompt, you should then assure that the display is c:\>Windows. If your command prompt reads as your post indicated, you've attempted to execute SCANREG from a McAfee folder. What you need to do is use the cd command to change directory. Probably the quickest way would be to type cd.. (with the two dots), then strike <Enter>. This should make your command prompt look like c:\>. While your OS may find the SCANREG command if you type it at this point, type cd windows instead. This should make your command prompt read as c:\>Windows.
