While working on a computer last night, I found a box to uncheck about
  updates and when I did, the little window from the taskbar did not appear.
  Unfortunately I did not note where it was!! Can anyone help me? That window is
  a pest! My OS win2Kpro.  Thank you,   AL SMITH
